TAK NAK 1CARE! / TAK NAK 1CARE! (VERSI BM)
by Eyes Wide Open
"...the implementation of 1Care's SHI concept will actually destroy the efficient system we have now, reverse-engineer for us all the problems of the American privatised healthcare system AND create ALL-NEW problems because of its very limited coverage. 1Care could be the most dangerously ridiculous case of putting the cart before the horse that Malaysians have ever been subjected to by the BN government!"
Health Minister confirms shocking proposal for 1Care 10% levy
For a Better Malaysia
"From the bitter experience in the past, Malaysians are justified in being concerned that by the time the 1Care scheme is finalised to the policy stage it will be too late for us to object to it. The Peaceful Assembly Bill was pushed through parliament in indecent haste despite our protests, the RM1.5 billion housing loan scheme using EPF funds is being bulldozed through without any consultations at all and a temporary operations licence (TOL) was hastily granted to Lynas for their rare earth processing plant despite more than a thousand submissions objecting to the plant. Provision of quality health care for the people is a social and moral obligation of the government. It is truly a service that must not be transformed into a business enterprise to reap huge profits at the expense of the health of the people.
1Care Malaysia - why kind of care? (dwi bahasa)
By Lee Wee Tak
It is time for the BN administration to make a full disclosure of the 1Care Malaysia Plan to clarify the general panic and confusion.
- Kini tibalah masa pentadbiran BN mengemukakan rancangan 1CareMalaysia secara terbuka dan lengkap untuk menjelaskan dan menenangkan kekeliruan dan kegusaran umum.
1Care Malaysia and ABCD's salaries (dwi bahasa)
By Lee Wee Tak
Rumour has it that money magnet named 1Care Malaysia calls for 10% or whatever to be clawed away from our salaries. Let’s for a moment imagine what our pocket will look like.
Ask Lord Bobo: Najib vs Malaysia, 1Care and Defamation
by Ask Lord Bobo (LoyarBurok)
"The government has asked Malaysians not to speculate about 1Care, and reserve judgment for when the system has been given a chance to develop. This is surely not the way to go about this. The importance of this matter cannot be overstated – it is a wholesale reform of the nation’s healthcare system, and will likely be funded by 9-10% of every citizen’s income. Surely we have a right to be consulted as part of the process, instead of being told to sit down and wait quietly for the government to tell us what is best."
Taknak 1 Care - justification for more money asked (dwi bahasa)
By Lee Wee Tak
Health Ministry is lagging sadly behind Ministry of Defense (RM2.8 billion) as well. Yeah, maybe the submarines and armoured personnel carriers are more critical to some people than a hospital in Ranau or Merandong or Limbang.
For Future Doctors : The Change is coming …………. Part 2
by Dr Pagalavan
"The first part of this topic was written by me on 15/12/2011 http://pagalavan.com/2011/12/15/for-future-doctors-the-change-is-coming/. Since then I witnessed that 1Care issue is being discussed in various blogs, online news and even public forums are being conducted to discuss this issue. MOH seem to be keeping very quiet."
1Care or just “I don’t care”
by Dr Hsu
Because the doctors are now being paid a higher consultation fees and because extra costs are incurred for medicines to be dispensed by pahramcy, the total healthare costs will shoot up, as in the experience of many countries which have implemented health financing scheme. The money eventually comes from the people.

1CARE for 1Malaysia, RESTRUCTURING OF THE MALAYSIAN HEALTH SYSTEM
by Dr SC Ng
Eyewitness at govt briefing in 2010. That time they were toying with the 7% figure, latest news it's closer to 10%. Many people still blur about this axe over all our heads. Please share and alert all your friends!
Health Reform in Malaysia: What should MMA’s Response be?
A long blog entry from Dr David Quek, the former MMA President's blog that details his concerns about 1Care and how the Minstry of Health tried to pressure the MMA to endorse it without answering those concerns.
“Yet, because the MMA and I as president, have been articulating some of these concerns, some senior MOH officials have accused us of being too confrontational, too parochial, and obsessed with vested interests. By declaring and threatening even, that the MMA can easily be made irrelevant and therefore be excluded from further MOH discussions, these officials fall prey to their own perceived self-importance that they should not be disagreed with.”
For Future Doctors: The Change is coming
"Basically, this scheme will allocate a certain amount of money for each private citizens of Malaysia. I was told that it would be in a range of about RM4K per year. Every citizen need to register with a GP and can only seek treatment from that particular GP whether they like it or not. If you decide to choose someone else, you need to pay on your own. Zoning will be implemented with only certain number of GPs will be included in each zone..."
DIAGNOSIS SKIM 1CARE
This Financial Advisor's blog entry is dated January 11th, 2011 and lists out all the points of 1Care's concept. But until this day, the government insists that it is still exploring options and nothing has been decided.
1Care health reforms: Can one size fit all?
Hornbill Unleashed, August 20, 2011
"Under this reformed system, both private and public sectors will be funded by a national health insurance scheme, managed by government appointees and drawn from contributions from employers and wage-earners. Briefings on 1Care have gone on throughout the nation. The briefings have been long on expositions on principles, and short of detail. It remains unclear where the funding will come from, who will manage the insurance fund, how healthcare will be rationed and which groups will be exempted, if any. No minister has spoken on the legitimate concerns of Malaysian citizens with low incomes or without adequate documentation."
